Set above the white sands of Mikri Vigla, Blue Wave faces the western coastline of Naxos with uninterrupted views across the Aegean. The house sits quietly into the rocky hillside, its whitewashed volumes and shaded terraces following the contours of the land while remaining within walking distance of the beach, nearby tavernas and the long shoreline that stretches toward Plaka.

The architecture draws from the restrained simplicity of Cycladic design. White masonry walls, exposed ceiling beams and built-in forms create interiors that feel cool and calm throughout the day, while openings frame the sea from nearly every principal room. Late afternoon light moves softly across the polished floors and textured plaster surfaces, giving the interiors a warm, muted tone as the sun lowers over the water.

The main living area unfolds as an open-plan space connecting the kitchen, dining and sitting areas beneath high beamed ceilings. Arched passages and sculpted built-in seating soften the geometry of the house, while natural materials and understated finishes keep the atmosphere grounded and informal. The kitchen is designed for everyday living, with open shelving, stone-toned worktops and direct access to the outdoor dining terrace.

Four bedrooms are arranged to provide privacy and independence, each with its own en-suite bathroom. The rooms are simple and restful in character, combining pale timber, linen textures and soft grey tones with traditional Cycladic detailing. Several bedrooms open directly onto terraces or outdoor seating areas facing the sea. In the bathrooms, smooth cement finishes and built-in showers echo the material palette of the island itself.

Outdoor living forms the centre of the property during the summer months. The infinity pool stretches toward the horizon, positioned to capture the changing colour of the sea from morning through sunset. Built-in lounge seating and shaded dining areas create multiple places to sit throughout the day, from quiet mornings after swimming to long evenings beside the water. The elevated position of the house allows for continuous sea breezes, an important climatic feature during the warmer months on Naxos.

Around the property, the landscape remains largely natural, with cedar trees, exposed rock and low Mediterranean planting blending into the surrounding terrain. Stone pathways and terraces step gradually through the plot, creating a gentle transition between the house and the hillside. At dusk, the western orientation brings open sunset views across the coastline, with the last light reflecting directly across the pool’s surface. A bottle of wine left on the outdoor table as the sky fades to soft amber feels entirely in keeping with the rhythm of the house.
